Unfortunately (or fortunately for the riders), there is no road up the mountain that can be climbed by bike, so the riders won’t be making their way up there today.
This relatively flat TT starts and finishes instead on the eastern banks of Loch Linnhe, a sea lake known for its relatively calm, dark water.
The route takes the riders towards Achintee at the base of Ben Nevis. It doesn’t involve too much climbing, but the road is lumpy, so a rider with some decent hill stats will benefit here.
Heading back down towards town, the riders will take on some technical turns through the narrow streets of Fort William before crossing the finish line close to where they started, on the beautiful shores of the lake.
