The route starts in the outskirts of Dolhasca and goes west to Falticeni, a bigger town (24.000 inhabitants) that will be just as boring as Dolhasca in terms of tourist attractions. From Falticeni, the riders cross the Lake Somuz and start the most difficult part of the race. It sounds interesting but in fact it is quite ordinary, there is just a succesion of two small climbs, one up to Petia village and the second up to Bunesti village. The specialists in hill races will try to get as much time as possible, because the peloton will struggle on these two hills - each is 2 km long, with an average slope of 5%. It cannot be compared to the tough climbs of the mountain races, but it is quite difficult.
From Bunesti, the riders continue the route to Suceava, the most important town in this part of the country (roughly 100.000 inhabitants, a former capital of the Moldova Principality back in the 14th to the 16th century). The course passes by the ruins of the Suceava Seat Fortress and then turns back to Dolhasca by the settlements Bosanci and Liteni.
The last 5 kilometers of the race, from Corni to Dolhasca, are on a flat and straight road, so if the riders as expected have regrouped, the sprint teams will do their best to place their sprinter captains in a suitable position for a bunch sprint. Top speeds will surpass the 70 km/h mark.
After the race the caravan will undoubtly enjoy the excellent Bucovinian traditional meals and the fine Moldavian wines prepared in the area.
