The route of Classico di Siracusa winds through twisted seaside roads and requires that riders pay full attention to the route at all times and avoid the siren sound of the legendary mermaids. One misplaced wheel and you can fly over the seawall and join the locals in their fishing. Riders are treated to views of amazing Greek ruins and fantastic sea vistas along the route.
In the end, they must navigate a tight bridge crossing on Via Malta before they turn onto Corso Giacomo Matteotti. The hairpin turns at Archimede Square before opening up the final sprint into Cathedral Square require deft maneuvers in very limited space. The finishing straight is overseen by Arcidiocesi Di Siracusa, and the winner of this race is truly blessed.
Riders can often be found immediately after the race at the nearby Ozcaffeborgia Jazz Club.
