Outside the train station in Bastogne the riders are gathered before the official start of Bastogne - Hasselt. The course follows a straightforward 95 km route northwards to Liège. A cold wind might blow across the landscape to make the 137 km against Hasselt even harder for the riders. After just 10km the first challenge appears for the peloton. Côte de la Roche-en-Ardenne a 2.8km long hill at an average gradient of 4.9%. A perfect place for an early break away. About 25km before the riders arrive at Liège, they have to climb up Côte de la Redoute. The iconic hill with a 2.1 km climb in Aywaille at an average gradient of 8.4% with slopes of over 20%. This might be the breaking point of the race and can be the place where the decisive breakaway are launched.
Liège is a major city and a municipality in Belgium. It is the main city of the province of the same name, Liège, in Belgium's francophone region of Wallonia. The city is situated in the valley of the Meuse River, in the east of Belgium, not far from borders with the Netherlands (Maastricht is about 33 km to the north) and with Germany (Aachen is about 53 km north-east).
From Liège the riders got 42km left before they can cross the finish line in Hasselt. Hasselt is a Belgian city and municipality, and capital of the province of Limburg. The finish line is placed at the Hasselt Market place, where thousands of fans are gathered to support the riders.

Description
The terrain in Bastogne - Hasselt has no climbs and has only easy downhills. The terrain includes a few hills and has many incredibly long and flat distances. The stage ends on a tough climb. The finishing climb gets steep from time to time. The route isn't technical at all. The roads include short passages with easy cobblestone paves. Wind speed: 18,5 m/s.
