Starting from the small locality of Alhadas, the peloton will continue towards Maiorca then Montemor-o-Velho and its magnificent castle built in 1088. The riders will have to climb to access it, which is the first difficulty of this race.
Riders will follow the famous "Rio Mondego" and its rice fields as far as the eye can see. Long straight lines will be able to benefit from breakaways to arrive at the village of Paião and approach the sea without seeing it yet.
Crossing the N109 will allow the peloton to finally see the Atlantic and ride through long Edgar Cardoso bridge, which crosses the Mondego river. The first breakaways will arrive in Figueira da Foz, a town known for its very long beaches.
The last difficulty will be the climb of "Cabo Mondego" to reach the top of "Serra da Boa Viagem", where only the best breakaways can hope not to be caught by the peloton. A detour will be made by the magnificent beach of Quiaios to end up in the center of this village.
