Going Global: O Canada! The Great White North Delivers
After a quick pass in Germany, our scouting machine just struck gold across the Atlantic. Say hello to 21-year-old Canadian Albion Neitz—the newest recruit to join Team WonderDee’s international project!
Unlike our last stop, Albion’s file gave us plenty of reasons to smile. He lands with a very clean, high-utility skillset:
DH (Downhill): Good
TT (Time Trial): Good
CL (Climbing) & HL (Hilly): Average
Albion is a fantastic addition to our descending squad. He’ll play a crucial support role alongside our Mongolian downhiller Guyuk Khayankhyarvaa in upcoming U23 events, while sharpening his own tools to see just how far his personal potential can take him.
Maple Leaf Power: The Canadian Scene
Canada might not have the massive swarm of teams you see in Central Europe, but the quality at the top is undeniable:
The Current Flag-Bearer: The 30-year-old hilly sprinter Clive Wortley (Cyklista Radom) leads the Canadian rider standings with 940 points. He’s been on a tear this season, racking up podiums across Europe: 2nd at Ronde van Limburg, 2nd at Hügel Fahrt, and a strong 9th at Norway’s own classic Bergen Rundtur.
The Benchmark Team: YCO reigns supreme as both the current top Canadian outfit (1,570 pts) and the all-time Canadian team leader with a staggering 78,828 points.
When you talk about Canadian OCM royalty, one name towers above the rest: Todd McVanblarcom.
With 9,446 all-time points, McVanblarcom was a lethal mountain goat best remembered for his prime D1 years with the Norwegian powerhouse Jubalon ProCycling. His trophy cabinet is the stuff of legends, featuring wins at the absolute hardest climbing classics on the calendar: Alpe d’Huez Classic, Zürich-Bern-Zürich, and Zell am See.
If Albion can develop even a fraction of McVanblarcom’s mountain grit, we’re in for a fun ride.
Talent Tracker:
Guyuk Khayankhyarvaa: Huge progress update! Guyuk has officially maxed out his Climbing, Downhill, and Hill skills. We’ve immediately shifted his focus to Sprint and Flat road training. Adding speed to his already descending base is the final piece of the puzzle to make him a genuine threat for that Mongolian National Champion shirt!
We are officially targeting the prestigious La Génération Future (U23) tour later this season. The dream is to line up with all five of our "Going Global" international talents working as a single, synchronized unit.
The squad is coming together, one last time before some of them are to old to race U23 races.
