- It has taken so many seasons with this project, and I am one of the investors behind it. But finally we are there. Top 25!, laughs Team Manager Ebbe Spas.
He is the brain behind Team Formand United, the Danish climbing team that still surprises the cycling world now and then.
Cycling spectators and journalists laughed, when Ebbe Spas launched his Galacticos of Cycling concept, but the best placement ever is today a reality. The long awaited Top 25 that happened after the genius Spas changed his concept to Galacticos of Climbing.
- I am just so happy that we need an Oddvar Helgesen style golden group shower soon, he says.
- It is really worth celebrating that we have remained in the Top Division for so long and move upwards in the division now. After the golden shower we might pop champagne and eat cheese snacks, Ebbe Spas tells me.
He says the real reason behind the last good results are the use of many captains on the team.
- We really have a broad, strong squad now. I use many different captains depending on the route. That tactic works fine with the lads. And a lot of break aways, especially Willis Rutland is a nice young breaker this season that I believe in.
- Our Icelandic viking Grímólfur Beinteinnsson just had his first Top 5 result on the team, but I expect more of him coming up. Remember he has been a Top 50 rider some seasons ago.
