Season 17

  Since everybody seems to do this, I have chosen to follow the majority, and make a review on season 17 for TCD!
  
  Volta was the first big battle. Sjaak had joined us only a few days before sign up, so we were more than ready. It looked really good, Hagman was 2nd in GC, right until the kingstage, where he crashed and got injured.. So Volta was a failure, even though, I didn’t expect much at the time.
  
  Since then, Hagman was unstoppable (almost), and won RoTM yet again. Again without any problems or drama, and a 2 minute lead in the GC, with 2 victories and a 4th in the prologue.
  
  The big surprise though, was that Hagman was sold to the former #1 team in the whole game, Skils, who had chosen to start his team up again, after a break. This was right after Hagmans 2nd RoTM victory. He was immediately replaced with the young climber/allrounder Chris Bauwens. Bauwens showed no mercy in the start, but got injured, and were out for a week.
  
  Umberto Impellitteri joined our team too. He is a massive talent. Maybe old, but he is turning into gold!
  
  So season 18 is about to begin… What to expect?
  We have chosen to sandbag, so we can enter the next Volta. Bauwens will hopefully win YC, and fight for GC victory. He is stronger in the climbs, and a lot stronger in the time trials than Hagman ever was, + the team mates has never been as strong, as they are now. So on paper, this should be good. But anything can happen.. We will hopefully get in the top division, and stay there. Maybe, if we are lucky, we can enter Germany Tour next season, but that will mean, no injuries can occur for the important riders!
