Award for the best rider of season 76 in Slovak team Lokomotíva Zvolen was decided later in the season, when  Gusto Tomko brought home another GC jersey, but this time of significantly higher value - from 3rd division Karpaty Tyr. Here are the words of the back-to-back golden pedal owner:
"A little bit surprising jersey, because I'm starting to feel the age, especially in the higher divisions, but looking at this tour from the hindsight, I think the experience made all the difference here. Now we are refreshed, recharged after the break, so we are ready to go for it again. We're looking forward to this season."
