At the start of season 58 team 1, 2 Cycle returned to OCM after a inactive period of years. That's not counting the team's sporadically logins throughout the years.
This time 1, 2 Cycle returns to compete again in the higher ranks of OCM! With a starting bank account of € 5.000.000 and almost investing it all the team is serious about it's return.
In about a week time 3 more riders will join the team after which the new team is complete. The teams investments is not just all spend in rider transfers, a break down of the new team:
Global investments material, staff and trainers
Despite the teams former active years reaching top division the team still lacked some staff and materials. Not anymore, 1, 2 Cycle invested in new bikes and equipment ready to compete with the best.
After the lack of materials got solved the team also hired Joost Kristoffers (first aid doctor) and Douwe Bos (safety mechanic). Bringing the team to a higher level!
Because of the inactive period the trainers resigned therefor new trainers where hired. First of all our former star Błażej Urbanek was signed to the staff. Together with Wilhelm Hoffmann and Brad Law.
The new team
In essence their are two teams within 1, 2 Cycle a climbing and a sprinting team. Both great teams who should be able to compete at the highest levels of OCM. All though being honest age will become a negative factor sooner then later.
Climbing team
The climbing team of 7 riders is, in our opinion, pretty strong and diverse with 2/3 young captains.
- Clayton Singletary (23y) is the main captain and highest transfer value in the teams history.
- Lechosław Rybkowski (27y) second captain with a unusual high FR stat of 89
- Eaton Parriott (24y) could be a captain in the right situation
- Rikard Grindheim (35y) the experienced rider also great climber and downhiller
- Kees Breinburg (24y) good helper
- Kadu Taty (25y) good helper
- Carlitos Itai (23y) hill helper/ water carrier *yet to transfer
Sprinting team
The sprinting team is awesome! These riders have proven themself's in top division and have won great things! The team consists of 10 riders, 6 of them are Portugees beasts from Yuri SuperTeam. Only downside of the sprinting team is age. Stil able to preform but it is a weak point...
- Alípio Almada (36y) captain and one of the all-time best sprinters in OCM history, a true beast!
- Gaudêncio Barroqueiro (29y) captain for the coming seasons
- Hermenegildo Jordão (37y) oldest rider of the team but what a 'technical' beast!
- Nuno Carvalho (33y) great LO2!
- Cássio Lisboa (34y) great LO2! *yet to transfer
- Abel Eiró (34y) great LO1! *yet to transfer
- Afonso Salazar (26y) LO-SP
- Orlando Henarez (33y) great LO1/WB!
- Neville Tarling (24y) Windbreaker
- Maksim Larionov (33y) water carrier
Team goals
In the long run 1, 2 Cycle wants to compete in top division. Reaching it will be hard on it's own let alone compete in it. Till we get that far we want to compete in Zyte division. Before we get that far the goal is to add as much prices as possible to 1, 2 Cycle's palmares.
Short term goal is to do well and win a classification in the Tour of Sanreizan. A strong team is starting but without the ideal preparation. Next to that 1, 2 Cycle will keep looking for new riders, either to train or the but.
