Antwan Maxwell fastest in Chiriquí Grande - Volcán Barú

Early on the stage, five optimistic riders attacked on the first climbs of Chiriquí Grande - Volcán Barú. They managed to keep a gap between them and the peloton until they reached the final climb. At the bottom of the climb, the group of favourites passed them. Rider by rider, they couldn't keep up with the tempo set by Kosmine Odiseja TM, who were supporting Tadas Stauce. Right behind the riders of Kosmine Odiseja TM was Antwan Maxwell and Leon van Basten lurking. Tadas Stauce looked strong, and seemed to have a good day, but when Leon van Basten launched an attack, only Antwan Maxwell could follow. Antwan Maxwell made a counter-attack and was suddenly alone in the front, as Tadas Stauce caught up Leon van Basten once again. Antwan Maxwell secured his victory without problems, while Tadas Stauce was faster in the sprint than Leon van Basten.
Antwan Maxwell was happy with the result. It has been my dream for a long time to win this stage, and finally I succeed, said the smiling winner.
Clay Bale, manager of CY Ryders, was happy with the result: The whole team did well today. Everything turned out as we hoped, and luckily, Antwan Maxwell was the strongest rider out there today. The proud manager didn't hide that he was satisfied with Antwan Maxwell's result. Antwan Maxwell did well. No one deserved the victory more than him. He put his focus on this stage long ago, and he kept his motivation high. I'm happy for him and the team, said Clay Bale.
