Often considered a warm-up before the Division 4 sprint classics, the Streets of Cairo race is a very flat circuit, requiring some high degree of technical proficiency, as well as traversing small amounts of cobble paths.

The official race start takes place not far from the steps of the Grand Egyptian Museum, then it heads briefly south (with a vista of the Pyramids off to the right), before taking a lazy left-turn northeast towards the Nile following King Faisel St. This begins the first of several circuits between the river and the desert’s edge, west of the city.

Crossing the Nile by way of the Abbas bridge, the riders will briefly navigate a short detour around to Manasterly Palace, before returning the opposite direction across the bridge. The race completes its main circuit route by travelling southwest along Al Haram, before turning right and back to the northeast again.

After several circuits - some 70+ kilometers, the race favorites would see the Abbas bridge one last time for the final dash towards one of the most impressive finish lines in OCM: a sprint that ends under gaze of the Sphinx itself!
