The race starts with a calm small flat terrain that is ideal for riders who search to win the race in a breakaway to try it. After this terrain, the first hilly cobbles start and the weak riders start to lose pace in comparison to the peloton. This hilly cobbles stop by the middle of the stage, to leave space to a long flat cobbled terrain.
The conclusion of this race comes with the final kilometers, were some tough hills appear to be an obstacle for the riders. Finally, the riders reach the final climb,which is a relatively easy one compared to other ones in the world. The winner will pass "el Portal", the portal in the finish line and will recive a trophy with the portal in the finishing line beautifully sculpted on it. This is a tough race, and whoever wins it should be proud of their superb effort.
