Team Zyte has been climbing the world ranking after a lot of struggle and tops the success with Jeraldo Piedrahita's impressive win in the 3rd Division race Ropice - Ropice.
Jeraldo Piedrahita, who proved himself to be incredibly strong on the cobblestones and deadly in a sprint, had the race fully under control as he was lead to the finish by the strong Belgian René Portai. Portai finished 8th in the race after an impressive role as team mate and captain de la route.
Due to the many struggles in the beginning of his career, Jeraldo Piedrahita isn't exactly a media friendly type and didn't have many comments on the race. "The team has supported me all the way, I owe them everything" was all he said when the press confronted him about the impressive result.
Team manager Nick Lissner explains his behaviour: "We've put a lot of pressure on his shoulders. We wouldn't do that if we knew he couldn't take it. The media did though quickly label him as overrated and wasted talent as the results didn't come in the beginning."
"He was learning at that time and we kept believing in him. He has become one of the strongest riders on cobblestones I have ever seen. René [Portain] has been really impressed. We keep our goals high, and on top of this result I believe we can do it", finished the team manager.
With the win, Team Zyte is settled in the 3rd Division being placed 149th in the worl and 8th on the Danish ranking.
