Lyly Sandemo was the fastest rider in the peloton when Gotland Tour was coming to an end. Lyly Sandemo speeded up and managed to get several meters ahead of the competitors in the ordinary sprint. Behind him was Ramón Ramos, Little Green Men, struggling with Renato Madruga from Bank of West Sahara. Renato Madruga saw his competitor get across the finishing line only a few miliseconds before himself, while both of them could only watch while Lyly Sandemo raised his hands for the victory.
Forza Verde's Lyly Sandemo didn't hide his joy when winning the Gotland Tour. It's incredible. I didn't expect this at all. I just wanted to try, I aimed for being 5th or 6th, but suddenly I was in the lead! said the happy winner.
The manager of Forza Verde was proud of his rider today. Lyly Sandemo has been training and preparing himself for this race. It's an important victory - both for Lyly Sandemo but also for the team.
