  After the growing popularity of the World Tour, Nick, Llotyhy and me decided it would be good to have a fourth division to give all those who would like to manage a National Team.

  This means that everyone from a nation currently without a National Team is now free to apply (in the correct topic). We will also try to do our best to campaign a bit so that the division fills up to a decent number quickly.

  I will update this topic once we have finished making all the races, but expect the calendar to be similar to Divisions B and C.

  We will also be adding races in Division B and C on day 36, to shorten the gap that is left by not having CoN.

  List of new races:

  Day 36, WT-B: Colombia Villavicencio - Bogota (WT)
  Day 36, WT-C: Austria Wien - Schneeberg (WT)

  WT-D

  Day 15: Central African Republic Bossangoa - Boali Falls (WT)
  Day 22: Slovenia Koper - Kolovrat (WT)
  Day 36: Chile Talca - Laguna del Maule (WT)
  Day 43: Bermuda Somerset Village - Fort Victoria (WT)
  Day 50: Slovakia Nitra - Zvolen (WT)
  Day 57: Kenya Arabuko Sokoke Forest - Mombasa (WT)
  Day 64: São Tomé and Príncipe Porto Alegre - Bombaim (WT)
  Day 71: Iran Dizin - Rineh (WT)
  Day 78: United States Virgin Islands Williams Delight - Christiansted
  Day 85: Burundi Grand Prix de Gitega (WT)

  Excellent news. I recently contacted a manager from Papua New Guinea who is interested. I hope he’ll apply.

  About the Day 36 race, have you considered how to avoid people signing up to both that race and CoN races?

  No, but as with normal incidences where you could sign up in both divisions, this would not be legal. So they would be removed.

  Hmm. If during the CoN you promote to top20 you are perfectly allowed to sign up for the CoN, but could have signed up for the new race too. And if you drop out top20 during the CoN but have signed up for all races, you could also sign up for this new race. So we could have someone “legally” sign up for both.

  Anyways, just asking because this could potentially cause some discussion if it isn’t regulated. I still think it is great news.

  Great news, thanks, guys. :)

  But I would not add races to day 36, it will make it hard to count Regional Series. Which race of the CoN will count as a counterpart of that day 36 race, so that everybody has equal chance to score? Especially if there is a country that would change divisions during CoN.

  Maybe a huge ask, but couldn't the CoN and WT points be in separate tables? Almost like CoN turns into a Tour, but the points gained in it don't count towards the WT table?

  Great news!

  At current there is no TT in the regional series for WTA contestants so I would suggest Yuri to take that one into account ;) but Im sure he will think of something himself too. An extra race would make promotion to WTA also a bit more likely for WTB contestants that didnt participate in CoN.

  @Hhauge,

  CoN is usuallly not during other races, so you wouldn't be able to sign up for both CoN and another race. But the Div_B and lower race is a replacement for the CoN final race, so it is only for teams that missed CoN. We are also considering making CoN open for 24 teams, so that everyone can sign up if more than 20 teams are able to ranking-wise. So that should prevent anyone from missing out.

  @Michael

  That would need to be work for Nick, and probably a lot. The addition of Wt-D and the replacement races on day 36 is work I can do without him, so that was a lot easier to do quickly.

  @Don

  Fair play, maybe a dumb question, but could I manage a small national team that isn't English to fill the numbers if you struggle to fill the spaces? I would obviously step aside if a team of that nation wanted to take over or if there wasn't enough spaces available in future seasons for teams applying

  @Michael

  I think you need to be from that nation in-game for the game to allow you to be the manager without it getting all bugged. So you would need a flag change, which is of course possible, but probably not what you want.

  Pierre Mrazique: The Regional Ranks isn't an official thing in OCM, so I don't think any official decision should be based on that. Still, we can later on decide on how to count it, but I would say that those new 3 races (WTB, WTC and WTD) would simply not count to the ranks just like the CoN.

  Michael: The CoN is the essence of the WT, where it all begin. I don't agree that the points awarded there shouldn't count to the WT ranks :)

  Nick, Don and Llotyhy: This is a great announcement, thank you for your work! Just would like to point out that the decision on the race profile is very important to increase the diversity of the WT, so I think we need to take this oportuniy to change things a bit!

  Nowadays we have:
  CB 1
  CL 1
  TT 1
  HL 2
  SP 2
  DH 1
  ALL 1
  So maybe now add a new CL or CB would be my suggestions on the way to go!

  One of the best news this game could bring. I could take back Andorra if numbers were needed, though I'd rather leave this for people getting into the game (I already spend my life here for just managing my team).

  Oh neat. Can’t decide whether to take on Denmark again or finally move to a solitude destination which is something I’ve been thinking about a couple of seasons.
  Do you guys have an idea for a cool nation with at least 6 active riders but no active teams, so I don’t steal a NT from an existing team?

  Nice ideas. I want something more exotic than Greenland and Faroe Islands, so Suriname is definately a nice idea. I had hoped for something like Timor-Leste, Brunei or Cambodia but they have too few riders.

  Yeah thats what I meant. Ranked riders is a weird measure if you ask me. Could be a div 9 28 avg rider while missing a 210 top division leadout.
  Anyways if you have some sort of mechanism to sort riders I have a few more requirements. I’ll send you a pm so this thread can get back on topic.

  Nice to see you've got the time for running a national team, Jaroslav :)

  We haven't had a national coach for over 2 seasons now, and we miss one.
  Denmark is one of the big cycling nations, and its no good that we dont
  participate in international cycling races.

  You've been in the game for years, Jaroslav, you're very experienced, and
  you know a lot of whats working in this game (just read the NT-thread in

  @Llotyhy. Thanks for your kind offer, it was very nice of you.

  Denmark is a big cycling nation with great traditions, and the danish cycling community
  dont deserve the 3rd "newbie" nt-coach straight in line. We need an experienced, serious,
  dedicated manager as a new nt-coach, and thats not me. Jaroslav is a way better manager
  than me, he's got the whole packet, and now he's got the time for running a national
  team, he'll be the absolute best man for running danish national team.

  If Jaroslav leaves a little coconut-republic without a nt-coach, I could take over if we could
  get Jaroslav as a danish national coach, but I need some help in the upstart, I have no
  idea how you manage a nt-team, I can make some decent leadouttrains in sprint and
  cobbles, thats it!

  No way, Goege - danish community deserves the best man as nt-coach, and I'm far
  away from being the best or second best manager in DK.

  Yes things changes quick in modern world, and you can also quickly rule things back
  again.

  If Jaroslav rules his shift of nation back and goes for the nt-job in DK, I would gladly
  help out with running a small nation, 12-15 active riders could be nice. And I can

  Mogens, WT racing doesn't have a lot of tactical rolls just captain, team mate and lead-out. So with a small explanation, you can get quite far. I had no NT experience last season when I took over and I only raced with a climbing team. But with a small explanation from the previous NT manager I managed to get 2nd in the CoN and 1st in the WT.

  You are in 2nd division after 2,5 years. I took me a few years longer to reach 2nd division. So don't under estimate your capabilities. A motivated less experienced manager is better than an experienced manager who doesn't really want the job.

  Mox, beside that you‘re underestimating yourself the Danish community - and the WT community - deserve to have an active manager in the first place!

  And as an example, paceuts took over Canada - they had a solid rider base - not long after he had a wildcard, so pretty much as a newbie. And now he‘s one of the top WT managers for I don‘t know how many seasons.

  Denmark was missed even if it means most of us will drop 1 place in the season ranking.
  Good luck Mox. You’ll be in Division A in no time

  The first WT D race is in CAR, really nice. I might consider a WT division drop to let Tshibwabwa ride it...

  Glad to have you aboard Mox, Denmark really should be in WT :)

  Hhauge has a point about being able to register for D36 and for some CoN-races (Spain would have been in that position during last season).

  So we would need a rule that signing up for WTB on day36 would mean you are not eligible for CoN or only for CoN36?

  That rule is there already.
  Maybe it can be added in the thread NT applications.

  I know but what if Spain had registeren for WTB36 and then was promoted to WTA and is able to register for CoN-races, for instance because Argentina droppen out? Are they allowed?

  Well I'am not in charge:) but I say no.
  Spain has to make a choice there. If Spain can see that they will reach the last race of CoN they can't sign up for day 36.

  And I think it will go wrong because not every NT manager reads all the threads about the WT.

  Maybe to add it in NT Applications and mention it one time in the new WT thread of S56 is the best you can do.

  I guess reading the stickied rules would be a pretty basic thing to expect, but you're right, it would be good to add it in the most visible places as well. Some people don't even read the Transfer rules, so I guess there will always be people missing it if we keep it in one thread.

  Yeah and mostly it will go well. The nations in WTA and WTB at this moment know.
  It is more for the future I think when new nations move up the rankings.

  But it looks nice on the race calender 4 WT Races.:)

  I went to the race calender and to day 15. There I saw WTD also.

  Edit I can see only 4 races on day 15 and day 22.
  I think the rest will follow.

  I see the rule for only one race is already in the thread of NT applications. A little hidden maybe but it is there already. I saw it reading it again. My apologies.

  You may only sign up for 1 race per week, even if in certain cases you can sign up for 2 races. If you sign up for 2 races you will be removed as NT manager - at least temporarily.

  @Finz

  I am afraid that all races but one are already done, the one being a DH race in Iran. Do you can probably guess why I made an exception for that one. ;)
   But you will be happy to hear that one of those races is actually in Colombia. It will even be the B race, so Colombia might actually participate in it.

  @MW
  Maybe Llotyhy edited it in, he can be sneaky fast sometimes. ;)
  But it's a brand new thread, so can't blame you for not being used to it's content yet.

  Will keep updating this here before copy/pasting it into the top-post.

  New:

  Day 36, WT-B: Colombia Villavicencio - Bogota (WT)
  Day 36, WT-C: Austria Wien - Schneeberg (WT)
  Day 36, WT-D: Chile Talca - Laguna del Maule (WT)
  Day 43, WT-D: Bermuda Somerset Village - Fort Victoria (WT)
  Day 50, WT-D: Slovakia Nitra - Zvolen (WT)
  Day 57, WT-D: Kenya Arabuko Sokoke Forest - Mombasa (WT)
  Day 64, WT-D: São Tomé and Príncipe Porto Alegre - Bombaim (WT)
  Day 78, WT-D: United States Virgin Islands Williams Delight - Christiansted (WT needs to be added to race name, Llotyhy's fault ;P)
  Day 85, WT-D: Burundi Grand Prix de Gitega (WT)

  Still a DH race missing on day 71 in Iran Iran, but that's coming soon as well!

  Nitra - Zvolen!!! :) I actually rode this one myself, but to make it 200km, you have to go there and back again. :) And yeah, it is hilly as heck. And if you go through Banska Stiavnica, you will get some cobbles, too. :)
  Thanks! What a honor! :)

  Unfortunately Macedonia hasn't quite built up the history in WT that these nations have. I'm sure you'll be working on that though. ;)

  One question about the new races in D. Cobbles are prominent as required side stat in several races. Is this done deliberately and what do you think will be the consequenses for the teams likely to compete in D?

  @Hhauge,

  We've tried to be as realistic as possible here regarding the terrain the races take place on.
  We also did this in several races during the normal calendar reform, and I have not noticed CB having any importance in most of the results. Usually the same riders win, as the other side stats are still important as well, and main stats remain by far the most important.

  However, it does increase BA chances a bit. So that will influence it somewhat, considering nations without suitable captains are likely to go for a BA. I don't think that is necessarily bad though, as it offers a slightly increased possibility of small nations surprising.
