When Floriano finished school at 18yo he decided to visit his cousin and rode from Lisbon to Hamburg on a bike. This trip has changed his life. He enjoyed it very much, understood that cycling is what he would like to do for a living and once he arrived to Hamburg, he never went back to Portugal. He lived in Germany for 3 years, trained with local club and participated in races in Germany, Denmark and sometimes Poland. On one of such races he was noticed by AnnoDomini scouts.
At the age of 21 Floriano signed a contract with AnnoDomini. Team didnt focus on sprints, but was glad to have one sprinter and Floriano was happy to be a sprint captain. In the next 15 seasons which he spent with the team he won 6 races and was 15 times on podium. He liked the flat profiles and coped well with heat, so his favorite races were Hermanus – Cape Town in South Africa (2 wins, one time 3rd) and Thap Yai – Kut Kha Kim race in Thailand (2 wins, two times 2nd).
After finishing his professional career he moved back to Lisbon, has two kids and runs a shop with sports equipment.
