The pride of Lisbon, Andre Marinho came from humble beginnings to become one of Portugal's best climbers.
At the age of 21 and without a team, Andre was considering giving up cycling and taking a career as a tomato farmer, when The Norse Code manager Erik Norse offered him a spot on the Greenland team's roster. Andre accepted and quickly rose through the ranks to become the captain of the climbing team.
As Andre's fortune rose, so too did the fortune of his team. Once a middling mid-division team, The Norse Code, on the strength of Andre's results, rose into the top 100 and Division 2. Andre found himself wearing the jersey of the Portuguese champion for a week, a rare honor for a rider maxing below 50.
Andre still has years to go in his career and hopes for many more successes, but he will surely go down as the first great rider of The Norse Code.
