Joel Høgisson is a former Icelandic professional road cyclist. He is known for his sprinting and bike handling skills. Høgisson is one time Icelandic national road race champion (season 28). He retired in season 36.
Born in Höfn, south-eastern part of Iceland, Høgisson won his first race GP snyltarane season 24 in his first year as a pro. The same season he came second in the Swiss race Fribourg GP. Two seasons later, he was back on the podium in the French race Toulouse GP. In season 27 he got a 3rd in I Wanna Cycle, before he won his last race in his career Hel - Gdansk the year after.
Because of his abilities with the bike, he as played an important part of the lead out train for both Knud Øgendahl and Julian Lundberg.
