Ogilvie was born in Inverness, just north of Loch Ness. As a teenager he cycled around the world famous Loch every week. The local Ghost Riders team picked him up in his early twenties. Recognizing his talent, Team Chili scouts pulled him loose from the Scots and offered him a youth contract at the age of 22, at the time for a meager 6000NT$ a month (comparable to $ 250).
His servant nature and overflowing leg muscles have served icon Royce Dodemaide for many seasons at Team Chili. For twelve seasons he took the lead for this legend, for miles at the head of the peloton, riding echelons, closing gaps, carrying water bottles.
