The route finishes on a short climb in the town of Oldham, on the outskirts of Manchester. The finish won't suit the pure sprinters as they will be most likely shed by the peloton going over the toughest climbs of the route over Saddleworth Moor. The finale will be a battle of the strongmen, with the winner often being the strongest sprinter from a very select group who haven't been dropped by the foot of the finishing slopes in Oldham.
