This Croatian time trial is held every year at the beginning of the truffle hunting festival. It is a joyous 3 day celebration of the best of Croatian cuisine and the cycling race is held on the first day.

The time trial covers 11.2 km from Rijeka to Klana. The densely wooded area will help shade the riders from the Mediterranean sun as they attack the 611m worth of vertical metres they have to climb towards the Slovenian border and truffle heaven.

It is split into two distinct climbs with a short respite towards the middle of the course.

Although it is an individual time trial, don't expect the pure time triallists to win for the climbing is tough enough to give pure climbers an advantage.

Finishing in the small town of Klana, the winner will be given the best of the truffles from that years harvest and invited to join in the rest of the festivities.
