After the start in Cua Lo the peleton will follow the river Song Lam towards Vinh City, the capital of Nghe An. Vinh is a city with about 400.000 inhabitants. It is close to the place of birth of Ho Chi Minh, the founder of modern day Vietnam.The peleton will make a small parade detour into the city, passing the statue of Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh square before going back to the river Song Lam and continue their race to the border.
Up to the last 20km the race will be on flat wide roads with reasonable tarmac, hence little technique is needed other then avoiding the occasional hole in the road.
The last 20 to 25km of the race will be hilly with some tough climbing at the end of the race up to the finish line.
