Aronkylä is one of them and became famous due to its own timetrail. 50 years ago the local Kauhajoki cycling club started races on the Aronkylä road and ever since that first race the event got bigger and bigger. It now is a yearly happening and attracts cycling fans around the country. At one point the race became localy so big it attracted the attention of the profesionall cycling world and ever since the race have been part of the semi pro ocm tour.
The race itself has still mantaind its original character, riding the road up and down a few times as fast as possible. Every man for himself. The only two turns in the road are at the the beginning and the end but they do not get very difficult or technicall. One little bump in the circuit is considered a hill but is of minor importance to the race. The only skill a rider needs to perform well is basicly cycling alone as fast as possible.
