The terrain in Altdorf - Ems includes many very steep and hard climbs and has an average difficulty of downhills. The terrain includes a few hills and has only a few flat roads. The finishing of the stage is a very steep tough climb giving many possibilities for the best climbers in the peleton. The route is incredibly technical.
