Preikestolen, also known by the English translations of Preacher's Pulpit or Pulpit Rock, is a steep and massive cliff 604 metres above Lysefjorden, opposite the Kjerag plateau. Kjeragbolten is a boulder located at Kjerag plateau. The rock itself is a 5 m³ glacial deposit wedged in the mountain's crevasse.
From the top of Lysebotn, the race continues to Sirdal. The riders have to cross a lot of small hills before they can arrive in Sirdal. Sirdal is the northernmost valley in Vest-Agder County. From Sirdal the next climb starts up to the top of Gravann and Hunnedalen, which is 700 meters above sea level. From the top the riders continue down to Dirdal. From Dirdal it’s hilly all the way to Bryne, before the final climb against the finish line in Bryne.
The race is 144 km long, the riders will climb totally 1900 meters. 900 meters just in the first 15km of the race.
