Welcome JJ duo

Written by Yuri SuperTeam at 12:54 9/1-2018

As you guys know, Yuri SuperTeam board recently decided to become an All Portuguese Team. Being one of the oldest Portuguese Teams and the most successful Portuguese Team (so far), it was clear this was the direction to go. Also the fact that our own Team Manager, Yuri, is also the NT Manager had some impact on this decision.

The board decided that this change shouldn't be too quick in order not to jeopardize the team's performance. We want to still be competitive on the Top Divisions and selling all Foreigners wouldn't help our campaign. The decision was to avoid selling any rider and letting the eldest ones retire at our Team (these are the cases from USA Coby Witherspoon and Sweden Sixten Moberg for example - see the latest press release for further examples: http://www.cyclingsimulator.com/?page=Press%20Release&team=Yuri%20SuperTeam&article=13487).

The hardest part was obviously buying the necessary Portuguese talent. As you might know, Portugal is currently lacking Sprinters which is our main attraction. Still, riders like Armando Silveira, Danilo Salomão, Xavier Mendes, Floriano Moutinho, Bruno César, Jordão Bento and Henrique Peseiro have been targeted (some of them even more than once) without success. But not everything is bad news. Alcides Carvalhal and Aarão Salgado were interested to join our project and we were able to negotiate with their teams.

As getting trained riders wasn't possible, the Board decided to go on a different direction. It was time to risk it all and invest on our Scouting department. Huge amounts of money have been spent on the recent Seasons with some success already been shown.

  Portugal Tobias Fartaria
  Potential:
  CL: Average
  DH: None
  HL: None
  SP: Small
  FR: Good
  CB: None
  TT: None
  TQ: Very good

The earlier maxed Talent with only 37 AV could have become a 200+ SP TQ orientated, but instead he became a 165 SP. Still, Tobia's humor is good enough to get him a job here.

  Portugal Hermenegildo Jordão
  Potential:
  CL: Small
  DH: Small
  HL: Small
  SP: Good
  FR: Small
  CB: None
  TT: Small
  TQ: Very good

Not maxed yet, but already a 214 SP rider. Hermenegildo already became a central figure of Yuri SuperTeam's future! His great TQ quality will for sure guarantee him a captaincy role in the future. Just wait and see...

  Portugal Hermano Montenegro
  Potential:
  CL: Average
  DH: None
  HL: Good
  SP: Small
  FR: Very good
  CB: None
  TT: Incredible
  TQ: Average

No introduction needed to be honest. Former U23 WC ITT winner and with 7 wins already in the Palmarès, Hermano is the living proof that the Scouting Program is working pretty well! Keep on bringing wins home Hermano!

As you've already understood from the title, we have 2 new Talents to introduce today. Ladies and Gentleman, I present you JUSTINO CLEMENTINO and JOAQUIM CRUZ! You might already noticed from their stats that they are not bad in CB. And in fact that's true since both have Good potential on that category. But was it for that reason that they were bought? Surely not....

  Portugal Justino Clementino
  Potential:
  CL: Average
  DH: Small
  HL: Average
  SP: Good
  FR: Good
  CB: Good
  TT: None
  TQ: Good

210+ SP with AV HL! Oh yeah baby exactly what we were looking for! Makes me remember the Portuguese legend David Pires. Let's hope he has a similar successful career in front of him!

  Portugal Joaquim Cruz
  Potential:
  CL: None
  DH: None
  HL: None
  SP: Small
  FR: Good
  CB: Good
  TT: Incredible
  TQ: Average

Yet another amazing Portuguese TTer! 220+ TT talent that will try to match Hermano's early success! Together with Hélio Albuquerque, Armando Brasil and Hermano himself, Portugal could have a bright future on the TT races! So excited for the future!

Now it's time to hope for high max AV and keep on Scouting!

  Guido Tomé,
  PR Manager
