World Communism Team: Season 52 presentation

Written by World Communism Team at 11:32 14/2-2020

For season 52, as the team will begin to transition to a new, younger captain with a different set of qualities, the focus of World Communism Team will slightly change and be a little bit less of Climb/Hills, and a little bit more of Hills/Sprint.

It is expected for the squad to be as follows:

zambia Yoweri Ayesu, becomes the team captain and main star of the team. This should be a season of transition as he is nowhere near finished training, and hopefully is still very far from maxing out.

south africa Xolani Lamola, the captain of season 50 and 51, as he is aging, will wind down into a solid Hills Helper role and should become the team’s number one teammate.

ethiopia Addis Gebreselassie, a much younger rider, will be the team’s other major Hills Helper, it is expected for his association to Lamola in race line-ups to do some damage on the steepest sections. He may also occasionally line up as a captain on Hills/Climb races.

tanzania Kuumba Rusesabagina, a very young rider, will be the team’s main Lead Out Sprinter and will have the task of placing Ayesu for the final dash for mass, and reduced bunch finishes. He is currently also a domestique for his national team.

gambia Sylvain Barry, will be the second choice Lead Out Sprinter to relieve Rusesabagina or to replace him in his absence. Or may ride with him in the same role when tactically required.

malawi Isa Ilubala, will continue serving as a Pace Setter, with particular focus on the longer climbs that the team may have to get through on occasions.

togo Romaric Mossi, will rotate and back up Ilubala as Pace Setter in similar race profiles. He will also serve in Jobs and in Breakaways. Or be a Water Carrier.

senegal Oluwayemisi Condeh, will also serve as Pace Setter in the rotation for Ilubala and Mossi. And will also serve in Jobs and in Breakaways. Or be a Water Carrier.

uganda Hauli Busoga, will mostly still serve the team as a Lead Out rider to the best of his ability. And may also serve in Jobs and in Breakaways, or as a Water Carrier.

south africa Farouk Dingi, is the newest addition to the squad, and replaces tanzania Baraka Bitar who is being released at the end of season 51. Dingi will also be used as a Lead out 1 or Wind Breaker in races requiring this type of support.

botswana Mgeni Mkapa is a short term stagiaire with the team and is expected to leave around day 10 in season 52, he will grow his DP and will also fill in as Water Carrier, and in Jobs and in Breakaways. He replaces Kenya Sostenes Vadher who transferred to Laetta during season 51.

jamaica Elbert Kearse, the Jamaican touch of the squad is expected to mostly serve as Water Carrier, and in Jobs and Breakaways. Though there are longer term plans for him to be a Downhill guide. Which will likely not be realised in season 52.

This squad setup will give the team a range of available tactical choices. And will help World Communism Team focus on hills races with very particular profiles.

The objective for the season is for the team to achieve its first wins in Division 7, or podium/official result in Division 6.

If the team can hold on to a Division 6 spot for long enough, chairman uMaliyasi will prepare the team to enter Cesko-Slovensky Pohar with the best form possible and try to perform well on the first two stages.

And as it is possible that the team will drop to Division 8 around that moment of season 52, Xolani Lamola will also have the mission to defend his title in south africa Druiwefees Fietswedren should the opportunity arise.

However, there will be no attempt to deliberately drop in order to sign up. World Communism Team will consistently enter races throughout the season, and have intent to score in every race.
