since our main goal was to win Cua Lò - Cau Treo this season, which we achieved, we had not much to do the end of the season. The manager was just managing on a week to week basis by picking out the hill races and signing up to them or to as good races as possible.
At first we ignored Fast on Wheels as we did see it opening up. There is only one real hill stage so we saw no particular reason to sign up.
However since there aren't many other races to do and we do had to race for XP and RS we decided to take the very last spot of the tour.
Stage 1:
in the first stage my rider Anh Sang Cuc came 13th.
That was higher than expected, we were just hoping for super legs to get a surprise result and use the hill team in the hill stage.
As the next two races were sprint and sprint with some hill we decided to keep him as captain for those two races too.
Stage 2:
51st was our result
Stage 3:
33rd in this stage.
Luckily in both of these races not much time was gained and we were still quite high up, to our surprise in the Youth Classification.
A bold move was plotted and we kept Anh Sang Cuc as captain for the hill race.
Stage 4:
14th in the hill (king's) stage. This was encouraging. now the gap in the Youth Classification was only 17s compared to Karol Nadolski. Since we had the better stats for the upcoming ITT, that had 9 TT and required no Sprint.
Stage 5:
Do or die time. Unfortunately our rider suffered from a mechanical and became 23rd this stage. Luckily his competitors did worse and the 17s gap was overtaken which resulted in a 47s lead over Cesário Moura who got 3rd in this stage.
Stage 6:
51st in this stage had no effect on the outcome. A 4th place in the GC and winner of the YC of Fast on Wheels season 51.
Not bad for a AV40 rider. Not bad at all.

Thanks! Yes the stage results are a bit embarrassing. And I was lucky too that the better equipped teams mainly had/used older riders.
