 Going Global: Stepping into the Steppes
Remember when we promised our scout’s new tech upgrades would take us far beyond Northern Europe? Well, the data has landed, the passport has been stamped, and we have officially gone way off the beaten path.
Welcome to Team WonderDee, Guyuk Khayankhyarvaa!
At 21 years old, Guyuk represents a massive milestone for our international project. His stats might not scream "World Tour absolute dominator" at first glance, but his profile has one glaring, beautiful green light: "Good" Downhill (DH) potential, backed by a solid wall of "Average" flat, sprint, and cobble ceilings.
The plan? We’re going to mold Guyuk into a descending team mate, sharpening his DH, climbing, hill, and flat road skills. He’s going to be a support to our climber/downhiller core, going down the descents and infiltrating breakaways.
The National Shirt Dream is Alive!
Unlike our previous stops in cycling powerhouses like Denmark and Belgium, this is exactly why we went international. The dream of collecting national champion jerseys is wide open here.
There is currently only one active Mongolian team on the grid—Freddy (544 points).
The national leaderboard is highly competitive but entirely within reach. Khangai Khutughtu (Il Grillo) and Baasankhuu Navaandorjiin (SmeskoBank) lead the current rider rankings with just 60 points each. If Guyuk can sneak into a few good breakaways and grab some points, that Mongolian National Championship jersey could genuinely be hanging in our service course soon.
While the scene is quiet right now, Mongolia has a rich history of producing absolute cult legends in the OCM universe.
On the all-time team rankings, Pterodromae Cahow rules the history books with a massive 18,841 points, followed by Maerimydra at 14,522 points.
When it comes to the riders, the standard was set by the legendary Khangai Oyunbileg (Team AEK), who amassed 5,236 points in his career. And we have to give a special nod to the number two all-time legend, Merkid Dogsom (4,930 points), who spent his glory days riding right here in Norway for Sprit i flaskene!
Guyuk is walking the path blazed by these pioneers. He’s got the downhill traits to make things interesting, a wide-open shot at a national jersey.
