Going Global: Cycle to Japan!
The "International Era" at Team WonderDee has officially kicked off, and our first stamp in the passport takes us all the way to the Land of the Rising Sun.
Meet Kaji Sho. He’s 20 years old, and if you’re reading this on release day—Happy Birthday, Kaji! He turns 21 tomorrow.
Now, let's be real: Kaji wasn't exactly the "world-beater" prospect we initially dreamed of for our first international slot. His stats are a bit under the level we usually aim for, but as our pioneer global talent, we’re giving him a specialized mission. We’re going to focus entirely on his sprinting skills.
The Goal? Turn Kaji into a lead-out man for Godo Grilo. If he can’t be the king of the mountain, he’s going to be the engine that powers our sprint train.
The State of Japan in OCM
Our dream of "collecting national shirts" might hit a bit of a speed bump here. The odds of Kaji snagging the Japanese National Championship jersey are... slim, to put it politely. But it’s fun to look at the landscape he's entering.
Japan is a bit of a sleeping giant in the OCM world right now:
Current Standings: There is currently only one Japanese team with points this season—sterrenstof.
The Man to Beat: The top-ranked Japanese rider is Tomioka Tetsu (Flanders Fields) with 870 points.
The History Books: We can't talk about Japan without mentioning Godzilla. With 10,075 points, they remain the greatest Japanese team in OCM history.
The Icons: Any Japanese rider entering the pro ranks is chasing the ghosts of legends like Tadaki Ko and Wada Tomoaki.
Kaji has some massive shoes to fill, but every legend starts somewhere!
Training Camp Update: Steffen Tveit
While we’re looking abroad, let’s check in on our local hero, Steffen Tveit.
The 19-year-old Norwegian is putting in the work. He has officially reached his potential in hill stats, meaning he’s as explosive as he’s ever going to be on the inclines. We’ve now shifted his focus to Flat road skills. If we want him to survive the run-in to those hilly finishes in the lower leagues, he needs the "motor" to stay with the pack on the flats.
It's a long road ahead, but the vision is starting to take shape.
Bon voyage, Kaji! Let’s see what you can do in the lead-out train.

It's always a nice challenge to obtain some national jerseys. Good luck! :)
