Reuring around Deuring

Written by Team Oasis at 22:36 17/10-2016

What many people were anticipating on is about to become reality. Jim Deuring has likely done his last tour for Team Oasis. He leaves captaincy with a solid 3rd spot at Vuelta de los Castillos.
These days Deuring's abilities are getting less and he reckons that as well. It comes at a time that Team Oasis carries on with its original goal to drop down for a bit. In that tactic riders shouldn't do to well for a seaoson or two/three to secure a place in division 2.
"We know we give up parts of a carreer of some of our riders", manager Nooky Lair says. "But this has happened in the past before. With the exception of one season, when we had lesser options we never tried to push the ranks with Deuring either. Jim didn't like that but we agreed to give him carte blanche at the Vuelta."
"I must thank Team Oasis for the faith in me at the Vuelta", Deuring replies. "One of my Vietnamese friends pointed out that this team would suit me well. I had to agree on that seeing their track record, so i said 'let's go for it'. It worked out great. I made it to the top 10 in the OCM rider rankings, won a few races that suited me and above all won a grand tour."
Deuring continues with his love and affection for the Vuelta. "This race has really become like a home for me, a peak moment in the season. I rode with some of the best tour riders and was only beaten by few of them. Too bad i missed one edition and that there is one guy called 'Alonso' out there. Otherwise they could have named me mister Vuelta. I'll sure miss fighting for the podium there next season.

Yep and 6,6,7 at Germany Tour and 7 at Cymru (in the season we missed Vuelta). Not bad at all.. only missed one top 9 gc and that was a 10th at GT.

AnnoDomini at 10:54 18/10-2016
6 out of 7 times in top 9 is a really great achievement - congrats Jim!
