Chennai - Pondicherry is a tough nut to crack. Riding there can be a quite overwhelming experience in a negative way. Last season Yanik Arda got scared along the way and his legs froze. This season however, having survived his first appearance, he came back and showed the sprinters his true power.
Although this race is not regarded as a true downhill race in our book, we do mark this race as one of the more important races on the calendar. So far our attempts stranded on 4th place (3x). Now this box is finally ticked off and it gives Arda's palmares more allure.
Arda had to do most of it on his own. Hedi Pourheidari crashed onto a cow early in the race and never really made it back. Emerson Prewitt was influenced by seeing all the crowds, dirt and poverty. He lost focus and was absent during most of the race.
After the race the team took off straightaway to Kenya, to start preparations for the annual Spanish double. In the airplane we were surprised by Team Stredet who flew out the same way. They offered us a very delicate Chicken Madras which an Indian topchef specially prepared for them on board. Even in the airplane we were overwhelmed, this time though by the kindness of the rich and famous.
Well at team oasis the team effort is more important than the individual. It could take some seasons to win that award.
Perfect win for Arda, he is going for the best downhiller title this season! He put behind him all the best sprinters in the OCM!!!
And yeah, congrats with a great win!
do gooder alert!
oh come on, I'll give you a hug

Indeed a niche race, which is usually to my liking.
Good luck on the highest level.
Quite a niche race. Good to see a specialist win. I was quite impressed with my 5th. My best div 1 result so far - but hopefully not for too long!
Nice one again! :)
