The Spanish big, bold mountains with snow looked impregnable at the Albacete-Madrid. But the winter race came with a surprising winner.. yet another piece of Danish Dynamite - Dennis Axelholm!
Team Formand United's new climber, 23, was tried out as a Captain and delivered this time, what Manager Ebbe Spas told him to do.
- It was my first result, so I really love this Gold medal. It was me and another Dane, Meldgaard, that broke away at the final climb. My legs felt so good that I almost sprinted up that mountain, Dennis A. told the press.
Ebbe Spas was a man of big words, when he saw the result coming up on the screen at the press tent:
- This is yet another piece of Danish Dynamite exploding in cycling! After 24 races, Dennis has now proved that he IS Dennis Dynamite. Of course no doping or anything, just pure class.
- He had the chance as a Captain in another race this season, but finished 10. Today was really the day he wanted to prove his critics wrong and make The Galacticos of Climbing sexy again!
Team Formand United is now back in Division 1 after a very short spell in Division 2. Urvoy came in as number 7 today, which also helped making the team climb up the ranks, now being no. 41 in the World and no. 2 in Denmark.
