Team Formand United's new nickname "Galacticos of Climbing" was yet again proved correct, when the tough climbs of Drakensberg Challenge had ended.
Youngster - and usually SD for "The Pita" - Josué Urvoy won his first victory going totally solo. He got away early on the stage, and no one could follow his tempo at all. What a victory it was.
- I just followed my pretty legs, the French man said:
- ... And here on the steep mountains today, they whispered "CLIMB, FROGGY, CLIMB!" to me all day long ... So I did!
The frog analogy comes from his origin, Team Manager Ebbe Spas said after the race.
- When Josué first arrived in Denmark to our team training camp after the winter break some years ago, he couldn't speak any Danish, and his English was worse than mine for sure. The only thing he could say was "frog" pointing at his sandwich with French frog salad, Ebbe Spas explained.
Again, after the race, rumors about doping came up at the press conference.
- Yes, I know people talk about dope a lot. Listen up - we do not use illegal dope, only legal DynEpo party joints and lots of topform. Just remember Dr. Ferrari did our fitness lessons yesterday, Ebbe Spas told laughing at the allegations.
