The Dutch youngster Jurgen Korfs hasn't been very long at Formand United's strong Division II team, but he proved his worth today. At the mild winter weather on the Isle of Man, Korfs proved he has the strength of an older and more experienced hill rider.
He rode in an early break away equipped with DynEPO bars, baking powder shakes and isotonic energy bottles. And indeed he needed to suck deep in the bottles to get to the end. But a nice ending it was.
Jurgen Korfs faked the twos others in the break away and sprinted around them from the back, ending as the day's number one!
- It was the finishing skill of Bjarne Riis on a mountain stage! My young, self trained Talent Korfs has turned into a Flying Dutchman earlier than I thought he would.. I really need to give him some purple pills and a hooker tonight, Ebbe Spas told the press happily.
- I do not know how I did that today. I really must thank the team for the help. I felt sharp in the break away and was happy that Ebbe gave me the chance to search for Dutch breaks. I feel like I want to party today!
