It was perhaps his first spell as a captain, and what a great fun it was taming the hard terrain at Bochum Fahrt.
Dutch downhill Talent Erwin Schreuder finished first with great help from his older and more experienced teammates. It was both a choc for the bike world and Ebbe Spas himself:
- I did not expect Erwin to grab the victory, but I expected some result of course.. after my expensive müsli super prepping of the young lad.. The older lads helped a lot, so it was really a team gold this time!
Erwin did not expect too much too, but he had an iron clad form to bang the peloton with.
- I rode 1½ season as a Stagiare at Team Formand United, so winning today was just epic. I did not know who the captain was until a day before the race. My super top form with omega 3 and Dynepo müsli bars diet really gave me the opportunity. And hard work of course!
- I want to say thank you to especially Pio and the other older captains today that really rode me to heaven today in Germany.
