The unconventional Team Manager Ebbe Spas of Team Formand United means now and then both entertainment and enlightenment in the world of OCM.
His latest tactical manoeuvre at first made chocks in the commentary pits at cycling arenas, but makes sense for Spas himself. His so called Team Galacticos of Cycling was close not even getting to the World Championship, but when they qualified, Spas was accused of picking a B-team!
B-team is maybe a harsh word, but not picking World top 25 star Oddvar Helgesen looked odd, especially when the route suited him. His lieutenant Boris "Bear" Urbanec wasn't picked too.
It looks like to me that Ebbe Spas wants to spare Helgesen for a filled race calendar, while Urbanec probably does not fit the route super well.
When we look at the team that Ebbe S. actually picked, it is quite strong though, but I really miss a climb star. Israeli Champion Moges Morad is the third strongest overall on Team Formand United, but does not look like a climber that will end up in top 5.
I believe more in a joker placed on the team card, Vukosav Vidakovi?. The Montenegro Champion is not even in the World top 1000, but has shown strength with two top 10s this season. He is in "total Top form" according to our point system here in the newspaper, and has gotten cart blanche to ride break aways tomorrow.
Let's see, how the WC shapes up tomorrow. I will be at the race and write more columns of course!

No, he is a very stubborn team member sticking with Ebbe Spas's strange tactics. Seems like Spas has too many click fingers:
"You are signed up for too many races/tours to participate in this tour."
