It really is a season to remember for Lauro Falco, the former Italian Stallion that no longer kicks butt, but flies super high over the mountain tops as a falcon ...
This time he won the Tour of the Rila Lakes in a tough sprint. And what is his speciality - utlra climbs and sprints. So his opponents really had their problems getting there in time after the Falcon. He was hardly threatened by his competitors, Paulo Haneiko, second, and Balthazar De Roest, third.
- I was not so surprised that I could win today again, but I did not expect to do it so easy. I mean.. it was almost a walk in a park in Rome!
- But I've been training a lot in the Italian mountains this season and visiting Dr. Ferrari in my new Ferrari. All this nice prepping really lifts me up! Falcon Falco says to the Moon sports newspaper.
His Team Manager Ebbe Spas really talked a lot when meeting the journalists after the climb course:
- I just knew that the last few seasons almost were underperformances from Falco, and now we really see his potential here in Division II, when ultra climbs come along. His fourth all time victory and his third this season. That rocks! The whole team did well today. Everything turned out as we hoped, and I will continue the medical work with Falco.
- Hi is the second best Italian rider right now on points - AND STILL NO NATIONAL RACES. THAT IS A DISASTER!, Spas suddenly yells out in the mountain rider.
