Team Formand United's young mountain hero Oddvar Helgesen - aka. nickname Norwegian Wood - did the steep climbs that he knows so well and won!
No one really had a chance when the well prepared home favorite stepped up his game, grabbed a Snickers with DynEPO and concured the climb at Juvasshytta. Only Jonathan Rodenthal could follow Helgesen in the final kilometer, the U23 Flamme Rouge, on the Norwegian mountain.
Oddvar Helgesen grabbed his first U23 win at the end of the day with his arms raised high. And it was also his last U23 race because he moves up his game.
- I am soon too old for U23, but what the heck. I really enjoyed this climbs, they aroused me!
- Watch out that you do not get too aroused, Helgesen, Team Manager Ebbe Spas said at the press conference, knowing that Odd Oddvar sometimes gets too many hard ons just in general.
- I was proud of my captain today. Oddvar Helgesen has been training and preparing himself for this race. It's an important victory - both for Oddvar Helgesen but also for the team. He has wins in both Senior and U23 categories now.
