The nicknamed "Odd" Oddvar Helgesen or "Norwegian Wood" really had a party after finishing third in the race Kanchanaburi - Bangkok. The result makes him one of the best active Norwegian riders in the OCM world and surely one of the best young ones from Norway.
- I know this was "only" a Div. 2.1 race, but it was maybe my best race so far, especially because I had an injury period before it, he said and climbed the stripper podium in one of Bangkok's Pattaya Go-Go joints.
- It is a local tradition with the naughty podium, and I am close to getting a wood between my legs, when I look at the strip women, Oddvar laughs.
- It was quite a spectacle today with the special podium, naked Asian ladies and our result in total. One of the harder Div. 2.1 races, and our two veterans Baakir and Somfalvi really had off days. So it was a little surprising with the podium although Oddvar was one of the favorites, he had an injury until a few days before the race. His downhill guide was really also just a youngster, so it was a new set-up for us, Team Manager Ebbe Spas adds.
