It almost ended in tears when Aaron Simpson, hill Cap from Team Formand United, had a Bronze medal today.
The final climbs of Trofeo Perla del Mediterráneo was a favorite terrain for Aussie Simpson that tells us he's always loved the race.
- I come from a very hilly Ayer Rocky place in Australia's outback, that why they call me the Crocodile, and I just loved eating the favorites today, he laughed to the press.
- Trofeo Perla del Mediterráneo has always been good to me, why I knew I had my chances, and with a little more luck with my helpers today I would've won. I just love that race.
It was the Aussie's first podium for two years. He is often among the sub favorites in hill races with a mountain mix, but fails in the more classic hill terrain.
