A little surprising maybe, but Team Formand United's upcoming downhill talent Jo De Smedt grabbed a silver medal at the Dali-Dali race today.
De Smedt rode the race in top form but suffered from a mechanical issue on the route.
- I lost some speed and energy on that problem. But did not matter super much, because the gear was fixed easily by the mechanic. Grabbed an EPO gum for the energy though, he admits.
- I had some super helpers today, especially good old Somfalvi and our youngster Oddvar Helgesen had good legs during the race, De Smedt says and smiles.
After a tough start on the season, Team Formand United seems to get better results and stays in the Division.
- We had some unluck, but have the good results now, that I always dream about. De Smedt's podium came a little later than I expected maybe, but he was worth waiting for. What a day, Team Manager Ebbe Spas says.
