Team Formand United's downhill / flatroad combo youngster Jo De Smedt finally got a top 5 result, when the Fort Collins Race ended today.
The sprint was a close race between Markus Lüthi from Siporex and Samo Ondráš, but the flat sprint wasn't bad for Belgian De Smedt that almost got the 3th spot.. 2 cm. from it!
He was among very strong riders that knew their metier, but did well:
- I actually had some super legs today that almost surprised me. Of course a Div. 4 race, but it really went well. When I look at the competition, there was really some overall strong dudes out there. I grabbed some pink wonders pills before the finish and it all ended in a well deserved 5th place, Jo De Smedt said.
- We have tried a couple of times before, but this time we finally got a top 5 in a downhill race with Jo. He looked good out there and really has done some skilled training and prepping the last couple of weeks, Manager Ebbe Spas added.
