A young man and a dream

Written by Team AEK at 15:40 27/1-2026

Isidoro Morgovejo came to the team back in season 61 when Fabio Borges
was busy with his final seasons of his career. At the time Fabio ended up being the best in the historical rankings.
Isidoro knew Fabio’s career wasn’t perfect and his record could be improved. So Isidoro had a dream, wanting to become the best in the world.
But he wasn’t so good as Fabio, some would even say he was just a leadout and nothing special. And at the same time there was Cokol Breakaway Team with Benjamim Fontes and a small crew of elite cobblers already climbing the ranks with the expectation of setting the record even higher.
Still fully convinced he could do it and with support of the full team a long journey started. Today, 15 seasons later, he finally reached the goal with having 26.565 points.

And while the points record in itself isn’t that special, he achieved some great things along the way.

With just 494 races in total, he has 232 results with 96 wins. Only counting the races he did as captain, he got a result in around 50% in them and won around 20%.

With that, he has a total career earnings of more than $3.3 million.

And he got 10 jerseys and 8 trophies.
The biggest one for me would be Norwich-London. Without top form against some very good teams with TF riders.

Like he did most of his races without TF, which makes his accomplishments even more impressive. And I enjoyed it more, with less to no real disappointment if he didn’t win.

  What’s next?
He could achieve more, but I don’t have any real goals left with him. Doing this gave me a long term goal to continue playing, but especially the last couple of seasons I wasn’t always that motivated with doing the same things season after season. So I’m glad he finally made it. Now he can still target some specific races as captain and support the team as a teammate the rest of the time.

Thanks to Hommerts Cycling Team for selling him and thanks to Team Chili for all the support along the ride.

  Impressive career for Isidoro.

If you need some extra motivation, you are in the best position to be the first team scoring 500 wins.
