S64 Slowly but Steady....

Written by TEAM BOBYN at 16:29 27/4-2023

Slowly but steady the TB ship grinds its way forward..

S64 turned out to be a a good year. Some good [performances in the tours coupled with a season-record number of results - albeit we could have done with a few more victories but the team, exhausted at the end were unable to fulfill. THe team spent some good time in D4 and remained competitive in D5.

Polishchuk picked up his first ever career win at the Aspen-Denver and it was in this race that TB recorded their very first 1-2-3 with Dolzhikov and Chupov picking up the remaining podium places. Fans favourite, Kozlovsky picked up three podium and the became the highest ranked rider in at 1140th and performed well in the tours and Ukraine races.

   In summary:

   Pts: 542 (+ 60pts)
   Division: 5 (E) (+/- Divisions)
   Rank: Ukraine 1st ( +/- place)
   worldwide 268th ( +40 places)
   Team Value 2.491m (+ 134k)

   Personnel & Tactical Changes

Davydov will retire after 16 seasons of loyal service and with this change their will be a new change of focus for TB. Young climber Zhuravlyov is catapulted to team captain after a brilliant S64 and the team will refocus on climbing while Kozlovsky is moved to Vice Captain with a strenghtened sprint outfit. Kapriyanov will remain the TT expert with the Uzbeks Arshavin and Yenotov providing the backup Captain role during periods of TF.

  International:
Ukraine will be pleased that they had a chance to take the Comrade Cup in the final race albeit we were a little dissappointted in the actual performance.

   A number of TB riders were heavily featured, including Zhuravlyov (3 caps - incl. a PB 10th), Davydov (1 cap), Kozlovsky (1 cap)Dmitriyev (2 Caps) Volkov (3 caps)Dolzhikov (1 cap)Rusanov (1 cap & 4th)Polishchuk(1cap)Lyutov (1 cap - debut), Yunge (2 caps)Zhivenkov (1 cap) Destyatov (1 cap) and Chupov (1 cap)

TB's Uzbek rider Yenotov picking up 3 caps.

U23 - First bit of success for a while as TB have developed a pool of 5 youth riders bringing in Bogun from the Browncoats and the rapid development of Korablin with some degree of success. This includes placements for Korablin, Andreyushkin and Medvedev. This bodes well for the future.

   (ii) Finish in D4 - get some exposure to D4 (S64 - partially met - some expsoure D4 )
   (iii) Target 3 x wins.(S64- 1 win - fail (but 15 results - a record!)
