Season 70 review

Written by ProgressTeam at 07:37 20/10-2024

ProgressTeam has finished its most successful season on our history. Our two team leaders Poland Gerald Imiołek and Laos Kholadeth Vongsamany delivered outstanding results in the early and mid-season. We finished the season with 3 wins, 16 results, 16 top 4-9, and huge ambitions for season 71!

We are also pleased that, in addition to our two undisputed leaders, our CL-team and HL-team are also strengthening.

Unfortunately, in season 70, we didn't have a great start in our main goal of the season: USA Race of The Minutemeen (we missed Div.4 by a few points), which meant that Imiolek's top form was not utilized as we would have liked (no win and only 10th place in the classic Andorra Juberri - Pas de la Casa).

  Key statistics:
  - 16 results - 3 wins, 4 seconds, 8 thirds and 1 other
  - 702 points – 219th Overall, 8th National.

   Best riders:
  - Poland Gerald Imiołek - 2 wins, 1 second, 5 thirds (327 points)
  - Laos Kholadeth Vongsamany - 1 win, 2 seconds, 3 thirds (2 in Youth Classifications) and 1 other (275 points)
  - spain Gabriel Lanos - 1 second

   Winning races:
  - Norway Rena-Rena
  - China Yanbian – Tureen-
  - chile San Fernando

   Departure and arrival hall:
   Welcomes:
  - Denmark Emil Åberg
  - Mexico Teo Zaga
  - Portugal Valentim Couto
  - Benin Denis Diè

   Goodbyes:
  - South Sudan Mwanje Lule
  - Burundi Didier Bigirimana

  Goals for season 71:
  - two technical hill races at the start of the season for Vongsamany:
   Gibraltar Alongside the Barbary Macaques
United States Virgin Islands Christiansted - Frederiksted - Christiansted
  - Austria Rundfahrt der Schlösser der Alpen – with Imiolek, If Vongsamany score about 80points in two first starts and secure our place in Div.4
  - If not we will start with Imiolek in Div.5 stage race Switzerland Monte Rosa Tour
  - Canada Edmonton Red Deer Tour with Vongsamany
  - training our promising junior Emil Åberg with the potential of him becoming another team leader
  - finish training Spain Gabriel Lanos as our main hill domestique
