Lindfield Locknuts are moving out from under the shadow of team legend Frederik Stephansen, as Mark van Hintum matched Stephansen's achievement in winning the Tour Of Norway two seasons in succession.
In fact the Dutch record signing eclipsed Stephansen's best winning margin of 2 minutes 37 seconds by over 2 minutes, taking out the GC by 4 minutes 48 seconds.
"What a performance by Mark" said a relieved SitsWithRemote after the final stage. "He has really started repaying the enormous amount we paid for him, not that I want him to have that hanging over him forever. The result does not really do justice to the GC competition, but we rode our luck and tried to work on our marginal gains."
Van Hintum will have a try at Bangor Climbs while his legs still feel good, before taking a well earned break back home in flatter country. He also took second place in the Green Jersey competition thanks to some solid leadouts by his climbing buddies.
