We meet Tacticman, manager of BGK Cycling Team, in the mountains in Austria a few days before division 2 classic Ainet - Bruggen.
Reporter: Like they say in Belgium "I will fall with the door in the house". What are the goals for the first classic of the year?
Tacticman: Wannes Vandenbosch should be in top form for this race so we go for a good result, like top 9 and may be with some luck, you never know, we might win and take the trophy to Belgium.
Reporter: We see BGK more and more competing for victories at a top level. What will be the main objectives during the rest of the season?
Tacticman: So we start with Ainet - Bruggen. Depending on the points we score here we will aim for the Volta ao Porto or the Norway Tour with Clóvis Feital. If we ride Norway, we will try to ride the Tour of Hawaii and Perm Tour as well. After that the Vuelta a Valparaìso should follow with Richard Bauer and Zulfiqar Sial as our leaders. Hopefully the new U23 tour will happen and BGK would like to participate. For the end of the season the plan is not yet finished but we still have time to figure that out.
Reporter: Talking about the Volta ao Porto, Antonio De Cuman, 3th last year, left the team. Was it hard to see him leave?
Tacticman: If you had a season like we had last year. It is hard to keep the team together. We had Clóvis winning Copa de la Historia de los Andes, Antonio ending 3th in the Volta ao Porto, Calle was 3th in Coppa della Famiglia del Don and Richard Bauer became World Champion ITT in the U23. So we had a lot of interest in our riders and we could not keep everybody. Antonio had a great offer by may be the best TT team, Andeby. We could not keep him.
Reporter: Indeed, Bauer became world champion. How was that?
Tacticman: It was already a project for the last few seasons. It started with Antonio De Cuman and later Bart Stuycken followed. Benne De Loose was close last year and this year Richard Bauer finally won. We are very happy with that.
