4 wins and 8 results is what the team achieved last season. The interesting thing is that the wins came from 4 different riders, which shows we have a broad range of good cyclists who support each other in various races.
First win came from Gustaw Banas in Bytom - Katowice, so a climber winning a DH race, but a Polish winner on home soil is what made everyone happy. Few days later Orlando won the Bielsko Biala - Zakopane race to make it 2 wins in 2 DH races in Poland - which is a great thing for us as the Polish DH team.
The 3rd win came from Jorg Meyer in Trofeu de Transalpina, while the 4th win was a BA win in Riga Streets by our cobble trainee Thomas Menard.
The best rider this season was Gustaw Banas, who scored 430pts, but this small amount of points scored individually only shows again that it was all about the team work this season.
In terms of rider changes, we had two riders retiring (Julian Cichoski and Marceli Urban) and in their place we have signed up a German cobbler Georg Alfke. Current plan is to finish training Thomas Menard, who will hopefully develop well enough to become our new cobble captain and then start training Georg.
In the meantime we have finalized training Denis Halas, who is a Hill Climber with TT skills, so we hope he can achieve something in tours. Another rider who starts to captain some races is Yannis van Haershot, whom we will be trying out in DH races and possibly some all-round races as well.
And as always, no particular goals for S51, we plan simply to enjoy our rides and hope you will enjoy yours too. See you on the road!
